I had to turn it down to closer to ~3.1v, cuz the thing was beeping like crazy even after a fresh charge when I throttled up. On a related note, I installed a beeper (yep, I lost it a couple times on my first couple flights without one), and the default in cleanflight was to give battery warning beeps at ~3.4v if I remember correctly. Perhaps a motor upgrade? Higher quality batteries? I'm considering upgrading to a 200mw VTX (eachine TX02 or TX03) to help with video, but then I'd also be adding weight and power reducing my already sad flight times.įor flight time, I will soon start to fly without the prop guards (getting better!) so that should help. Right now I'm mostly frustrated with a) video range and dropouts, and b) flight time/battery life. Now for my own questions others might know the answer to :) This video is the one that helped me get set up: I think this has a lot to do with the 25mw VTX on the qx95.īonus: many of the instructions out there for binding QX95 are for an older version of the flight controller board. One feature I like is that the facemask part disconnects and it can be used on a tripod- I had visions of sharing the hobby by letting people watch that way, but so far everyone (spouse included) stays far away from me when I fly ) I'm not sure how much better the video transmission is with the vr D2s, but the video range I'm getting is not nearly as good as I was expecting. I got this: They work and it's nice to have a pocketful of batteries, but I don't think they're really 720mah, they seem to have less juice than the two that came with the kit. If you do get upgrades, I'd suggest the version with plugs - seems these things break or burn out often enough that it would be a pain to desolder/resolder them every time. I've been happy with the default motors so far, though they do start to lack oomph when I've got the prop and antenna guards on.
(I'm on a mac, milage might be much better on windows.)

or whether the X7 takes AAs, but I think you're making a better choice with the X7 - I'm bummed I only get 6 channels, and although they say you can install third-party FS-i6 firmware to enable all 10, as well as connect it to a computer to use as a sim, I haven't gotten either of these to work.
Can't comment on the compatibility of your kit. I got a flysky version, and a FS-i6 transmitter. The frame isn't that strong (prop guards help protect during rough crashes) and the video antenna is really fragile and unprotected.
That said, I have access to a 3d printer and it's been invaluable (for printing prop guards, and an antenna guard, and soon a whole new frame). I've been pretty happy that I didn't go with a bigger quad, since I've broken and fixed things so many times and I didn't have to do it with a more expensive kit. Hey! I'm a beginner myself with a qx95, so I'm gonna try to answer what I can - and I have a few questions maybe others can help out with. Or something else entirely and a new charger if you can recommend one?Īnything else I'm missing or should consider?Like maybe spending less and getting an i6 transmitter and vr-007 Google's and save myself £50-£60 Is it worth getting this battery and charger as well? Getting racestar 8520 8.5x20 motors (about £10) as an upgrade? If so would I get these with the 1.25mm connector or without and just solder them in? I can get a qx and i6 transmitter for £80 bonded is it worth paying the extra £40+ for the x7? Is it wise to go for this micro-copter before going to a bigger copter (which would cost £100-£150 more on top) Hi guys, after quite abit of research I've gone from looking at buying a wizard x220 or building my first 220 to looking at buying a micro quadcopter.Įachine tiny qx95 with frysky compatible receiver - £36ĥ sets of walkera ladybird propellers -£6
